Starbucks has been sued for the third time by an organization that accused the espresso chain of stealing its coffee-flavored lipstick and lip gloss idea. Balmuccino, whose leaders included a sister-in-law of TV physician Mehmet Oz, filed its grievance Friday in Manhattan federal court docket.
The lawsuit adopted the dismissal of an earlier model of the lawsuit by a Seattle federal choose in July 2023 on procedural grounds, the second such dismissal. Seattle-based Starbucks had no speedy remark.
Balmuccino mentioned it started growing coffee-flavored lip balms in 2016 and pitched them at an October 2018 assembly at Starbucks’ New York workplace, the place it offered prototypes and different confidential info.
