Sergio Mendes, the Grammy Award-winning Brazilian musician whose hit music “Mas Que Nada” made him a world legend, has died after months of battling the consequences of the coronavirus, his supervisor Karen Fok confirmed to CBS Information on Friday. He was 83.

The Brazilian pianist, songwriter and arranger died Thursday in Los Angeles, his household stated in an announcement.
